Client Privacy

At Biotech Diagnostics, the privacy and confidentiality of Client information is extremely important. Hence, Biotech makes every attempt to safeguard client information. The intention is to use the information for the ease of doing business with clients.

What if Client does not provide relevant information?

If a client does not provide relevant information, Client may not be able to establish an account to purchase the products offered by Biotech Diagnostics/ biotechkit.com.au. Biotech Diagnostics/ www.biotechkit.com.au validates that clients are a licensed practice/ facility that will administer and log information on products as per manufacturers protocols.

What information does Biotech Diagnostics collect and retain?

Biotech may collect information about clients via business transactions. Information collected depends on the nature of the interaction with the client. Information is collected when a client contacts Biotech, sends an email, makes an enquiry or orders products. Biotech may keep a record of, for example, name, contact information (i.e. address, telephone number, web address etc.). When collecting information for business purpose, Clients professional details (e.g. designations, qualifications, areas of interest) as well as details on Client’s practice/ business (e.g. size of practice, practice Managers’ and use of products).   

How does Biotech use personal information and to whom does Biotech disclose it?

Biotech uses client information collected to provide and promote goods and services to clients and for the following purposes and/or any related secondary purposes:

(1) Maintenance of records of queries, complaints or adverse reaction reports relating to products.

(2) Provide Animal health diagnostic products that have been requested by clients.

(3) Communication to clients on products.

(4) Customized marketing and advertising appropriately suited to clients’ interests.

(5) Comply with legal obligations such as notifying clients of matters that may be required by law such as product recalls.

(6) Coordination of meetings between clients and sales representatives.

(7) Conducting credit checks on clients to establish credit accounts when needed.

(8) Management of client lists for the purposes of market research.

 

Disclosure of Client Information to Third Parties

(a) Affiliates within and/ or outside of Australia.

(b) Parties within or outside of Australia to help Biotech improve its products and services.

(c) Regulatory Authorities, within or outside of Australia.

(d) Service providers to permit them to provide services such as provision of infrastructure, IT services, data analytics, email delivery, customer services and other similar services.

(e) Other parties as permitted or required by law:

(1) In order to enforce these terms.

(2) In order to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates.

(3) In order to protect our rights, privacy, safety, confidentiality, reputation or property and that of our affiliates.

(4) In order to prevent fraud and cyber-crime.

(5) In order to obtain legal advice.

(6) In order to permit to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that Biotech may sustain.

(7) In order to identify any user that provides content on a Biotech product that is unlawful or is otherwise in violation of the law or these terms.

(8) In order to facilitate any mergers or sales involving all or part of Biotech or as part of a corporate re-organisation or share sale or other change in corporate control.

 

Information about another person(s)

If clients provide personal information about another person(s) to Biotech, Clients must advise those person(s) that they are providing their personal information to Biotech and obtain their consent.

 

Security of Client Information

Biotech takes all reasonable steps to protect the information retained from misuse, loss, or un-authorised access. While Biotech intends to keep Client information secure and confidential, Biotech will not be responsible for any breach of security caused by third parties and does not represent that any Biotech website are completely secure. Biotech takes reasonable steps to ensure organisations outside Biotech, that handle or obtain client information, acknowledge the confidentiality of the information.

What does Biotech do with personal information when it is no longer needed?

Biotech takes reasonable steps to destroy Client information if it is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed under applicable privacy laws. If Biotech is no longer permitted or required by law to retain it, Biotech uses secure methods to destroy the said information.

Is our Client Information up-to-date?

Biotech makes every attempt to secure accurate, complete and up to date information on clients. If notified that the information is not accurate, complete or up to date,  Biotech will take steps to validate the information and ensure that it is corrected in a timely manner.

Unsubscribing from electronic communications from us

If a client decides that they no longer wish to receive any electronic communication or direct marketing from Biotech, they may unsubscribe any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in the communication.

Cookies

Biotech uses cookies on the website. Cookies are small data files that are downloaded onto clients’ computers when they visit the website. Cookies help provide additional functionality to the website and allow target advertising more effectively. When Cookies are used, the Cookie will not collect any personal information without the clients’ explicit permission. Clients can disable cookies by turning them off in their browser.

IP Addresses

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically generated by clients’ computer by their ISP. Biotech may collect and use IP Addresses to identify individuals/ businesses may be a threat or risk to biotech web pages & customers data.
